Shirin Alavi Architects can manage a competitive tender process. For this we research and interview potential contractors, invite a selection to tender, evaluate their tender proposals, make a recommendation to the client and notify unsuccessful tenderers accompanied by feedback.
Tendering is where a selection of building contractors is invited to bid for a contract. Tender documents may include technical design drawings, specifications and a schedule of works and allow the prospective contractor to cost, programme and speculatively build the project. Technical drawings may include, for example, a detail of a wall and floor junction at a scale of 1:5, showing materials and how they fit together. The specification documents are a critical tool in delivering the appropriate level of quality and ensuring proper building performance and we use the industry standard National Building Specification.
